Do you switch-off your mobile in flight??????

I received this article through e-mail and logically speaking there could be a high chance that our Cell Phone signals(Ignorant Cell Phone user) could be the culprit here. If you happen to fly (It doesn't matter whether Domestic or International Flight) please ensure that you have your mobile switched off or at-least in Flight Mode. 

Please do insist all your friends & relatives to do the same and create awareness. Often we assume that in the modern technology world, there is always a way to handle this automatically. But the truth is we do not have any system in place to handle this automatically at the moment. Cell phones and other devices that send or receive signals is generally (strictly) prohibited due to the potential impact on aircraft avionics and the potential for interference with ground cell networks.

Webex on Ubuntu 10.04

I updated my Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04 last week. I was quiet happy noticing almost no issues post upgrade until yesterday when I noticed that the Webex which I configured in Ubuntu 9.10 is not working anymore. Did a little bit of research and saw that my .profile file is pointing to Open JDK for JAVA. After little bit of google I found that Webex does not work well with openJDK & IcedTea. Here are the steps I did to get Webex working back

• sudo apt-get remove icedtea6-plugin
• sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner"
• sudo apt-get update
• sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk
• sudo update-alternatives --config java
• sudo apt-get install sun-java6-plugin

What is Blogging???

I am just a newbie learning to Blog..... If you are reading this then I feel sorry for you.... But I promise that being a good & quick learner, I can blog better on coming days..

I have not yet decided on what to blog...but I have decided to blog. As this being my first blog, let me write something about me.

I am a normal human being with regular feelings as anyone would have. I respect people who respect me. I am least bothered about people who don't care about me... I am straight forward, and want to live the life for this moment rather than worrying about too many things which is not under my control.

I love watching (Realistic, Romantic & Funny) movies... Few of my picks would be American Pie, Scary Movie series, Pink Panther, Love Actually, Taken, Hangover, Holiday, Anger Management, Anbe Sivam, Thenali, Baadsha etc.,

I also love traveling... Long drive (Preferably Hill Stations), Adventure trips (Trekking, camping out). I am craze about cars, but not on the one which falls way beyond my budget. Lets be practical and I always have desire to own & drive good performance SUVs. I like to go for Long Road trip with people who are close to me.

I think if I write more, I will start exaggerating things about me and it is a human tendency you know...If you are reading this last sentence of my first blog... Thanks a lot for your extreme patience and loads of interest to know about me.
